The process of ink refill

Printer ink is one of the most expensive affairs, which you may face with your digital gadgets, but you can avoid the expenses if you go for ink refill. The process is very easy and you just need to follow some simple steps.

First, purchase an ink refill kit and also make sure you have a roll of paper towels, some clear scotch tape, and a table or desk. Then remove the empty cartridge from your printer. Now cover your hands with plastic gloves and take a paper towel to fold it in half twice. Keep the empty cartridge on it. Before moving further, read the manual, given with the refill kit. Then locate the fill holes on the top of the cartridge. You can use a sharp pencil to pierce the refill holes. You have to do the piercing process, based on the instruction manual only.

Then insert a long needle on the refill ink bottle into the correct hole and add ink. It should not be over-filled. Now slowly release the air, before you remove the needle.
Carefully spread the cartridge contacts on the paper towel and you should see a splotch of the ink leaking out on the paper towel. Then cover the hole with a small piece of clear scotch tape.

After refilling, carefully blot the cartridge print head on the folded piece of paper towel. And after that, replace the ink cartridge into the printer. Now your printer is ready to print anything with its new ink refill.

DIMM, the dual inline memory modules are evolved from earlier RAM module package SIMM, the single inline memory module. The DIMM memory module gained its usage with the introduction 64 bit Pentium processor by the Intel. Earlier since, the SIMM has 32 bit wide path required installation of SIMM in matched pair to complete the bus width of 64 bit. The DIMM comes in several sizes. SDRAM the Single Data Rate (SDR) SDRAM DIMMs comes in two sizes of 1.7-inch and 1.5-inch.

These DIMM get easily placed in sockets of desktop computer motherboard as sufficient space in general is available in desktop computer. However, with the introduction slim rack mount servers and to facilitate plugging of DIMM modules in the 1.75″ high box, the DDR DIMMs were standardized with height of 1.2″. These DIMMs are called low profile DIMM and get easily accommodated in memory sockets for a 1U server. The requirement for even smaller DIMM assumed importance with blade servers gaining its footage in the market.

Earlier developed LP DIMMs are angled to place in space-constrained blade server boxes but this has generated need for development of DIMM with a height of 0.72″. These DIMMs are also known as Very Low Profile DIMM or VLP DIMM. With further evolution in SDRAM memory techniques, JEDEC has specified VLP DIMM with 18.75mm height for DDR3 type DIMM modules. The DDR2 and DDR3 types of DIMM since operates at lower voltage than SDRAM modules, therefore they are better power consumption characteristics.
