Even though most people tend to overlook, there is no doubt that camera straps are an essential camera accessory. They are highly convenient tool for carrying around your camera. In fact that most cameras have with them straps carrying the manufacturer’s logo or some other promotional material, but it cannot be expected that they would suit everybody’s purpose. There may also be people who are just averse to becoming a walking ad for a camera manufacturer.
Camera straps, which normally come with the cameras, are unlikely to remain comfortable after an extended use. As a good camera having a good lens usually weighs quite a bit, it is natural for a user to feel uncomfortable if the strap does not seem to be strong enough. In fact, those supplied with the cameras are just basic cloth straps, and you can opt for a better one if you so desire. Under compelling circumstances, you can also make one for yourself.
Never purchase a cheap, low-quality camera strap that will put your valuable camera at risk. You won’t ever feel confident as a photographer if your attention continuously shifts towards your camera strap whose couplings seen to be weak. Once you possess a quality camera, you have to have a quality strap as well.
You can choose between a neck strap and a chest strap whichever you like. A quick release chest strap or harness can keep your camera firmly in position while you climb or struggle your way through bush. So give camera straps their due and ignore them at your own peril!
