Presents: A Gesticulation

The word presents is often confused with gifts. Some say they are synonymous, some say they are different. The dictionary says “Present means to furnish or endow with a gift or the like, especially by formal act: example; to present someone with a gold watch.” Gifts means “something given voluntarily without payment in return, as to show favor toward someone, honor an occasion, or make a gesture of assistance; present.”

As you can see above both the words are interchangeable and support each other in some form. There is no formal differentiation followed by people. Even if we deem presents to be formal and gifts to be informal, they still serve the same purpose ‘To Gesticulate’. Whether it is formal or informal, endowments need to be thoughtful enough so that the receiver is pleased to accept it. Depending on, whom the present needs to be given or the occasion and events, presents have their own magnitude. Presents can be generalized for formal events and festivals whereas they need to be personalized for celebrations analogous to weddings and anniversaries. Rather than generalizing it, it is good to solicitous.

Gifts or a presents is the best way to make a person feel special. They are the best form of non-verbal communications as many of us are unable to express our thoughts and feelings in a special or an extraordinary way. A present can communicate the way of thinking in a comportment that is beyond mind’s eye.
